Why does Audio editing become boring after some time?
Once you get to the initial stage of audio recording and editing, it becomes mundane pretty fast.
It takes an eternity to listen to the audio and remove the problematic parts. Applying the effects one after another feels like you have done it a thousand times, and it is boring.
You wonder if there is a magic wand that will solve everything instantly. Unfortunately, there is no such magic yet, and there is no sign of that type of magic soon.
The good news is that you can get close to that solution, freeing up your time for other important areas.
Instead of listening to every detail of the audio for cleanup, acquire the skill to spot mistakes just by looking at the waveform. Yes, the problematic parts of the audio always show a consistent pattern on the waveform.
Mouth clicks will always have a clear spike; every time you cough or clear your throat, it follows the same pattern. Once you train yourself to recognize problems with waveform patterns, you can shorten audio clean-up or editing time tenfold.
So, the big question is, how do you develop that skill? The answer is to learn and practice. You will get tons of YouTube tutorials on these things. The issue is:
You have to know which tutorials to watch
You have to make sure to practice.
I have developed some solutions to take away your thinking and worrying parts both in Audacity and Adobe Audition.
