If you want top-quality voice audio, you have to think in three stages:

  1. Before recording

  2. During recording

  3. After recording

We usually call the last stage post-processing.

EQ, compression, noise reduction—these are all part of post-processing. They are important, but here’s the reality:

👉 If the recording is bad, there is no way to turn it into great or high-quality audio through post-processing alone.

That’s why Step 0 of professional voice audio starts before you even press record.

To capture the best possible recording, you must do three things correctly:

1️⃣ Select the right microphone in your software

2️⃣ Talk into the correct side of the microphone
This sounds obvious, but it’s one of the most common mistakes. Many microphones are directional, and speaking into the wrong side instantly degrades the sound.

3️⃣ Maintain the proper distance from the microphone
Too close creates plosives and boominess.
Too far introduces room noise and thin audio.
The right distance gives you clarity, balance, and control.

All of this is explained clearly and step by step in my Professional Voice Audio Blueprint course.

This course focuses on building professional-grade audio from the recording stage first, so everything that comes later—editing, processing, and delivery—becomes easier and more predictable.
