How to Tackle Any Audio Problem — Podcast, Audiobook, or Voice Over
At first glance, it may seem like podcast editing, audiobook production, voice-over work, and content creation all require very different audio editing techniques.
That’s a perfectly valid way to think, on the surface. After all, each one has its own format, audience, and purpose.
But when you zoom out and take a step back, something surprising becomes clear:
Most of the core audio techniques are exactly the same.
The way you record, the tools you use to process your voice, and even the effects you apply — these workflows hardly change whether you’re narrating an audiobook or running a podcast interview.
In fact, the biggest difference between them often comes down to something as simple as… how you export the file.
Yes, really.
The recording techniques? Nearly identical.
The processing chain? Pretty much the same.
The editing approach? Overlaps more than you'd think.
And the export difference? Usually just a matter of selecting a different setting from a dropdown menu — 192 kbps MP3 vs 44.1kHz WAV, for instance.
Now, I know this might sound easy when someone like me says it. I've spent years working on audio — learning what works and what doesn't, and simplifying workflows for people.
But for someone who’s still putting all the pieces together, or someone who just got started with Audacity or Adobe Audition… this idea can feel overwhelming.
That’s why, instead of creating one general course for “audio editing,” I break it down by goal and software.
When I say, “Here’s how to record, edit, and export for audiobooks,” audiobook narrators immediately understand what I’m talking about.
When I say, “This is the podcast workflow,” podcasters nod along.
Even if 90% of the steps are the same, framing the content around the listener’s goal makes the whole process click.
That’s how I’ve helped beginners — and I mean total beginners — confidently produce their own voice-overs, audiobooks, and podcasts.
By making it clear, goal-driven, and simple. Not by overwhelming them with “audio engineering theory,” but by giving them clear steps and use-case examples that actually match what they’re trying to do.
That’s Why I’m Creating a PDF Course Series
I’ve decided to build individual PDF courses, each tailored to a specific purpose and software:
Audiobooks in Audacity
Voice Over in Audacity
Podcasts in Audacity
Audiobooks in Adobe Audition
Voice Over in Adobe Audition
And more…
These guides are designed for people who already know the basics — who’ve maybe taken my video courses or watched my YouTube tutorials — but now want to go from “understanding the tool” to actually using it to get results.
Each PDF will walk you through the entire process: how to record, how to apply the right effects in the right order, and how to export correctly — all shown step-by-step with screenshots.
And the best part?
It’s focused entirely on your goal.
What’s Happening Right Now
Last week, I emailed my list asking:
“Which PDF do you want first?”
I gave 10 options. I expected audiobooks or voice-over to win easily, since that’s what I mostly teach.
But I was wrong.
To my surprise, “Podcasts in Audacity” won the pre-order race — by a noticeable margin. That’s the guide I’ve already started working on, and it’s actively in development.
If you preorder now for just $10 (30% of the final price), I’ll immediately give you access to the development doc — so you can see how it’s coming together in real time.
Once it's complete in a couple of days, the final version will be sold at $27, but you’ll already have full access.
What’s Next?
The next guide I build will be based on which course gets the most pre-orders by end of day today.
So if you're into voice-over, audiobooks, or another workflow — and want me to build your guide next — now’s the time to make your vote count.
I’ll be checking pre-orders tonight, and tomorrow morning I’ll begin working on the next PDF.
You can grab your preorder now at a 70% discount, and as soon as I start building it, you’ll get immediate access to the progress.

Thanks again to everyone who’s been following along, replying to emails, and jumping in with early support.
You’re helping shape something that will genuinely help a lot of people.
And if you're one of those people who has always wanted a clear, visual path to great audio… I think these PDFs are exactly what you’ve been waiting for.
