Is AI-enhancement making Audacity learning obsolete?

Hi

Every AI software has a common feature - it solves a problem in no time - very fast.

Voice enhancement with AI is no different. It improves the audio with just a click.

Improving audio with a click is not the main feature of AI enhancement, we already do that using Audacity.

AI does it in a way that you do not need to know any audio editing techniques.

You upload an audio file, and you are done.

If you do not know of such AI software, watch this YouTube video: https://youtu.be/sUlV-D0dg9o

If AI can improve audio for us without needing to know anything, why would we learn software like Audacity?

In fact, why would we learn any audio editing software at all? Our most common goal in voice editing is to make it sound better.

Think of audiobook production or professional voice-over or podcast or voice-over for content creation.

Basically, we learn how to make the sound better.

Yes, we need to meet some requirements, but we are mainly improving the audio in the big picture.

Sometimes my $197 Audacity Bundle is sold like hot cake and I get very positive reviews.

If AI has the solution, it makes those purchases unnecessary. Not only that, it also makes our learning struggle a waste of time.

Cause AI has the answer. Or is it? I tried to answer all these questions in that YouTube video.

But the goal of this email is not to make you watch that YouTube video. This email is to assure you that AI is far from the perfect solution.

There are mainly 2 kinds of AI software available on the market. One kind works without you needing to interfere - like Adobe Podcast.

The other kinds are where you need to adjust the knobs - like Supertone Clear. If you had to adjust knobs, you have to know what you are doing.

The first kind (Adobe Podcast) relies on the data fed into it. And here, things get complex.

Everyone's noise is different, and sometimes, noise and actual audio have the same frequency or pattern.

In other words, one person’s noise is another person’s voice. Funny!

If you are into serious voice editing, keep your focus intact in this era of distraction.

Learn to control white noise, background noise, and room echo. It is non-negotiable.

AI software can help you in some situations, but professional audio quality is not one of them.
